Feelings
to feel a flutter of excitement about something good to come
1
Meaning & nuance
설레다 is the light, bubbly excitement you feel before something you look forward to: a trip, the first day of school, a date, the first snow. It is softer than "thrilled" and comes with no fear.
Learners and even native speakers often write 설레이다, but the standard form is 설레다: 설레요, 설렜어요, 설레는 마음. The noun is 설렘, not 설레임.
