서운하다

[서운하다]seounhada

to feel hurt or let down

Feelings

to feel a little hurt or let down, usually by someone close

1

Meaning & nuance

서운하다 is the small ache you feel when someone close does not treat you the way you hoped: a friend forgets your birthday, or leaves without saying goodbye. It is milder than anger and gentler than "hurt."

It also covers the wistful feeling of an ending: 벌써 마지막 날이라니 서운하네요 (The last day already? I am sad to see it end).
